There is a huge gender gap when it comes to STEM field employment. Even though half of the work force consists of women, only about 27% of STEM workers are women. One nonprofit organization that is helping to tackle this issue is Girls Who Code, who is on a mission to close the gender gap in STEM fields.

Valentino DiGiorgio is a community-conscious philanthropist and entrepreneur with a passion for empowering individuals and families in need. He also believes that STEM and STEAM fields are the key to our future, and offers a scholarship for high school students who pursue careers in the Science, Technology, Engineering, arts, and Mathematics fields.

Girls Who Code is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of female engineers. They offer coding-based clubs for elementary and middle school students where they can learn in a fun environment with like-minded peers. For high school students, there are virtual summer programs. Even for college students, they offer the space to build community with other women in the field. Girls Who Code is currently based across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and India.
The post Nonprofit Advocates for Women in STEM first appeared on Valentino DiGiorgio.

The United States is home to about 26 million people who claim Italian heritage. The Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America (OSDIA) was founded in 1905 as a way to establish mutual aid for Italian immigrants of the time. Today, there are thousands of members across all fifty states, and it is the largest and oldest organization for people with Italian heritage.

Valentino DiGiorgio is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and proud Italian-American who is community conscious and has a passion for empowering individuals and families in need. In 2018, DiGiorgio was honoured to receive the Distinguished Italian-American Award from a local chapter of the Sons of Italian Organization.

The OSDIA is committed to preserving Italian American culture, promoting closer cultural relations between the USA and Italy, and encouraging the study of Italian language and culture in American schools. Anyone can become a member as long as you have a passion for Italian culture. Women make up about fifty percent of membership and have held positions and all levels of the organization.
The post Nonprofit Supports Italian-Americans first appeared on Valentino DiGiorgio.
